Dr. Punam Kashyap is an eminent educationist backed by a career spanning over four decades. She has been associated with prestigious institutions like Delhi Public School (Mathura Road, Delhi), Convent of Jesus and Mary, Welham Girls’ High School Dehradun, Modern High School Dubai, DPS Kuwait, before bringing her academic acumen and experience to GEMS and now to Delhi World Foundation.

She played a significant role in launching and heading DPS Kuwait for 14 years—taking it to unprecedented glory in all arenas, particularly World Debating Tournaments in Peru, Scotland, Cardiff & Singapore, winning the prestigious ESL Trophy every year. She has worked with Modern High School, Dubai (a GEMS School) before adorning her role at GEMS Education, India. She has authored books for children and is widely traveled, having conducted ESL Workshops at Oxford and Eton.

She has had relevant international exposure, having worked in Dubai and Kuwait, together with being a resource person at several conferences in the Middle East and UK. Recently, she was part of the Indian Education Research Delegation to Finland.

As Director of GEMS Education, she led the operational and academic management of the group’s schools—pre and post-operational phases. She has been launching several schools of various curricula (CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE & IB) across India—from feasibility to actual launch, and thereafter developing curriculums, operational standards, systems, and policies, together with creating and delivering leadership and teacher training modules.

Her current position as Director of Education — Delhi World Foundation is a challenging assignment as it entails launching schools in India and abroad. Sixty schools under her guidance are functioning in a short span of four years. Her personal brand equity is a great asset, playing a prominent role as the media spokesperson and as a key speaker at national and international conferences. Her powerful network within the industry has always stood her in good stead.

Dr. Punam’s passion and achievements in the K-12 sector have won her several prestigious awards and accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Government of India.

An avid debater and a charismatic personality possessing dynamic leadership skills, Dr. Punam has received her Ph.D. in Education from Commonwealth University, a double major in English and Music (MA English Literature, Sangeet Praveen — M.Mus., M.Phil Linguistics — CIEFL Hyderabad).

Dr. Punam is the proud mother of two young and dynamic stars in the field of music & technology—Shibani Kashyap, an acclaimed Sufi singer & music composer, and Ashish Kashyap, the Young Turk of the IT world.

She continues to bask in the love, respect, and admiration of her students, teachers, peers, promoters, friends, and well-wishers. She is constantly working on the quintessence of integrated learning that incorporates an innovative blend of contemporary pedagogy, modern communication technology, and the human touch, interwoven with a futuristic vision.

I have been acquainted with and have had the joy of working with Mr. Michael D’Souza since 2004 when he was in Doha, Qatar, till date. We achieved excellence for GEMS in the UAE and even in India.

Mr. Michael D’Souza is a passionate and dynamic principal and team leader. He has exceptional innovative methods in teaching and understanding his students, staff, and parents. He is a great human resource, and I take pride in calling him my prodigy.

I have also known Mrs. Pooja Chauhan as the Founder Principal of our two schools in Alwar. Her defense background and passion for education are unparalleled. She is an excellent administrator and a go-getter. I am honored to be the mentor of SJS, especially proud of our team, and yes, we believe in miracles! That is why SJS has been founded—to make our students work miracles in their lives and in those they come in touch with.
